A Boca Raton resident has been arrested on a charge of threatening the life of U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz, the Democrat who represents Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, according to a post Moskowitz made on X.

Moskowitz wrote that the person, a constituent, was arrested in Boca Raton a few miles from his home. He said the individual is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail. He did not name the person or describe the alleged threat.

Moskowitz thanked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and local police for acting quickly to protect him and his family. Patch has asked FDLE for more information. The Patch report is being treated as breaking news and will be updated as details become available.

The arrest comes as Moskowitz runs for reelection in the newly created Congressional District 25 against Republican Scott Singer. Moskowitz, a former Broward County commissioner and former director of emergency management under Gov. Ron DeSantis, lives in Coral Springs.
