Emergency road construction closed westbound lanes of Indiantown Road in Jupiter on Thursday afternoon, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The closure began after 11 a.m. at Island Way, near the Interstate 95 ramps. Lanes started to reopen around 1 p.m. Jupiter police said traffic was diverted at Central Boulevard during the closure.
The source did not say what prompted the emergency work. Florida Power and Light has road work scheduled for the week, but it is unclear whether that crew was involved. Drivers who use Indiantown Road near I-95 should expect possible delays if work resumes.
The story is developing, and more details will be added as the agencies release them.
