Friday starts comfortable across South Florida, with lows in the 60s and lower 70s and highs reaching the mid-80s. A northeast breeze could bring a few quick showers along the coast, according to Local 10 News.

The mood changes this weekend. The chance for heavy rainfall is rising across the East Coast metro areas, raising the potential for flooding in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Wind gusts of 35 mph or higher are possible Sunday, which could cause minor wind damage, mainly near the coast.

The next phase of king tides is also arriving. Through the weekend, the tides are expected to reach moderate flood levels along the East Coast, and saltwater could flood streets and communities.

Residents should plan for wet roads and possible low-lying flooding, especially near the coast, and enjoy the drier Friday while it lasts.
