A fire broke out Saturday at a four-story building at 800 Fairway Drive in Deerfield Beach, but sprinklers put out the flames before they could spread.
Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue officials said firefighters saw smoke coming from a third-floor office. The sprinkler system activated quickly and extinguished the blaze.
Fire officials believe the fire started in an air-conditioning unit or a heater. The exact cause remains under investigation.
The building’s damage and any effects on occupants were not detailed in the report.
