Meat Market Boca Raton, inside the Renaissance hotel at 2000 NW 19th Street, received seven high-priority violations and two basic violations during a recent health inspection, according to records logged with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The restaurant was not ordered to shut down.
Inspectors found live flying insects near the drink well, cups and hoses at the back bar and in front of the bar counter, a finding that led to an administrative complaint. Other violations involved dented and rusted cans in dry storage, raw salmon stored on top of cooked rice, and seven containers of cured beef sauce and a container of blue cheese dressing past the seven-day limit. A cheese item was also found held at 45 degrees Fahrenheit, above the 41-degree safe limit. That violation was marked as a repeat.
Staff members were cited for touching soiled surfaces or dirty dishes and then handling clean equipment without washing their hands. Several problems were corrected on site, and the operator cleaned the ice machines, which inspectors found soiled with a black and green mold-like substance. Sanitizer strength in a wiping cloth bucket was also below the required level until the operator remade it.
A follow-up inspection the next day found no violations. The restaurant’s full inspection list is available through the state regulator’s public records.
