WTGL, the indoor team golf league for women, begins its first season Nov. 8 at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens. The league is a spinoff of TGL, the tech-infused indoor golf concept founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, which has completed two seasons.
Five teams and 25 players will compete for the team title. Michelle Wie West, Lexi Thompson, Charley Hull, Lydia Ko, Rose Zhang and Brooke Henderson are among the players scheduled to compete.
The venue seats 1,500 and sits on the campus of Palm Beach State College. Tickets are on sale. Andrew George, senior vice president of live events for TMRW Sports, said fans will sit close to the action on every match night.
Wie West said the arena setting sets golf apart from other sports, a point she credited to TGL. Henderson said she enjoys the quick matches and working with teammates.
The first match tees off at 3 p.m. on Nov. 8 and will air on WPBF 25.
