West Palm Beach officials are getting ready for the arrival of the Sandi Tree at Centennial Square, the centerpiece of the city’s annual Holiday in Paradise celebration.

The city expects 700 tons of sand to arrive next week. Sculptors will then shape it into what the city describes as the world’s only 35-foot-tall tree made entirely of sand.

Sandi will be lit during the holiday tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 3.

Residents who cannot make it downtown can watch the tree online. WPBF 25 News is the exclusive TV partner of the Sandi Tree Skycam, which will offer live views throughout the holiday season.
