The City of Tamarac has received about 3 inches of rain over the past 24 hours, and crews are clearing storm drains and running pumps at all three pump stations to manage stormwater levels, the city said in a social media post.

All storm floodgates have been opened. The city is watching rising water in the C-14 Canal. Officials said some minor street flooding has been reported, but the stormwater system is handling the rain and conditions remain manageable.

Flooding has been reported at the Aquatic Center parking lot, at NW 84th Terrace and Commercial Boulevard, at NW 108th Terrace in the Kings Point area, in the Sunshine Plaza parking lot and in Hampton Hills.

The city is also monitoring communities with privately maintained drainage systems and is coordinating with neighboring municipalities on canal levels. Rainfall is expected to taper off over the coming days, which should help drainage improve.

City crews and the Broward Sheriff’s Office will keep watching conditions and will post more updates as needed. Residents should use caution around flooded areas and avoid driving through standing water.
