Miami restaurant Rishtedar, located at 232 NW 24th St. in the Miami area, shared its butter chicken recipe with WSVN 7News as part of its Bite with Belkys segment.
The dish starts with bite-size pieces of boneless chicken marinated for at least 30 minutes in lemon juice, plain Greek yogurt, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin, coriander and turmeric. The chicken is pan-fried over medium heat until cooked through.
The sauce is built on butter, ginger-garlic paste, green peppers, cinnamon, cardamom and garlic, along with diced tomatoes and cashews. After the spiced base cools, it goes into a blender and is blended until smooth.
To finish, the cook returns the sauce to a pan, adds the chicken, then stirs in garam masala and kasuri methi. Heavy cream goes in next, followed by a final pat of butter. The recipe notes that sugar should be added only if needed to balance acidity.
The restaurant’s phone number is (305) 799-0724.
