The Publix at 9105 S. Dadeland Blvd. in Kendall may soon add a Publix Pours café, a bar serving beer and wine alongside coffee and smoothies. The supermarket is considering the concept for its former Starbucks space, according to an Oct. 27 Miami Herald report.
Publix spokeswoman Lindsey Willis told the Herald that the chain has closed its in-store Starbucks locations and is evaluating replacements. She said the space may be used for Pours, but the company has not committed to it or announced an opening date or menu.
At Pours locations, shoppers can order draft beer by the pint or as a flight. Wine can be enjoyed at the counter or carried through the store. The cafés also sell nitro cold brew, protein smoothies and açaí bowls. Menus vary by store, so Kendall shoppers would need to wait for a location-specific list.
If the plan goes forward, Dadeland would be Miami’s first Pours location. The Herald reported that South Florida already has Pours bars in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Wellington.
For now, the former Starbucks space remains a possibility rather than a confirmed project.
