La Birra Bar, the Argentine burger brand that started as a small family-run café in Buenos Aires, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The company says its growth has been built on handcrafted buns baked fresh daily and patties prepared each day from fresh ingredients.

The Cocchia family founded the brand in 2001 in the Boedo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. It now operates in Argentina, the United States, Spain and Chile. South Florida has been central to its expansion, with six locations in North Miami Beach, Wynwood, Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Doral and Coral Gables.

The brand opened its first U.S. restaurant in North Miami Beach in 2021. It has since won three People’s Choice Awards at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival’s Burger Bash, in 2022, 2025 and 2026. The most recent winner, the Crispy Dubai, also took the overall title at the Dubai Burger Championship in January 2026.

La Birra Bar ranked No. 7 in the 2025 World’s 25 Best Burgers list. The restaurant also has a presence at Inter Miami CF’s stadium.

For South Florida diners, the anniversary marks a steady run of new locations and awards for a brand that now has a regional footprint across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
