The Miami Dolphins (1-6) host the Detroit Lions (5-2) at 1 p.m. Sunday in Miami Gardens, with the game broadcast on CBS. Detroit is favored by 7.

Dolphins first-year coach Jeff Hafley said he wants his young team built on the same toughness Lions coach Dan Campbell has instilled in Detroit. Campbell, who once vowed his team would “bite a kneecap off” opponents, said the rebuilding Dolphins remind him of his own early days in Detroit. Miami has the youngest roster in the NFL, with eight rookies combining for 45 starts.

The Lions are trying to win a fourth straight game while dealing with a serious injury to All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell, who was carted off the field after suffering a neck injury in a 19-15 win over Minnesota. In a statement Wednesday, he said he has full movement in his lower body and is making progress with his upper body.

Detroit’s offense ranks first in the league, averaging 395.4 yards and 29 points per game. Miami’s defense ranks 16th against both the pass and the run, and its pass rush is tied for 30th in sacks. Rookie guard Kadyn Proctor returned to practice this week after a concussion, which could help a Dolphins run game that managed just 74 yards against New England.

The Lions also have injury questions of their own, including edge rusher DJ Wonnum (concussion) and cornerback DJ Reed (hip).
