Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami will open its 10th anniversary season with a Fall Performance at the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m. The show mixes audience favorites with new premieres and looks back on the company’s first decade.
The headline piece is the return of Tara Lee’s “Under the Olive Tree,” which depicts gods from the heavens spending time with humans on earth. The program also includes Jimmy Orrante’s “Watercolor,” Vicente Nebrada’s “A Handel Celebration” and Christopher Wheeldon’s “Liturgy.”
The company was founded in 2016 by former Miami City Ballet principal dancers Jennifer Kronenberg and Carlos Guerra. It describes itself as a professional contemporary ballet company that aims to make the art form accessible to all. Its community outreach includes opportunities for emerging dancers and choreographers.
Tickets range from $25 to $45, and student tickets cost $10 with a valid student ID at pickup. General tickets are available at MossCenter.org, at the Moss Center Box Office or by calling 786-573-5300. The show is recommended for all ages.
The performance is supported in part by a grant from South Arts, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs.
