An exhibition tracing the Deering family’s history is on display at the Deering Estate in Palmetto Bay through Oct. 31. The estate is at 16701 SW 72 Ave.

The exhibit, titled “Family History is America’s Story: Tracing the Deering Family through Time,” is part of the estate’s America250 program. It is free with estate admission. It highlights family members who played a part in the nation’s founding and follows the country’s story from before the Revolutionary War to the present.

Patriotic decorations fill the display, along with archive photos of Deering family members and information about them.

The Genealogical Society of Greater Miami worked with the Deering Estate to produce the show. Visitors interested in local history or genealogy can see it before the display closes at the end of the month.
