A Delray Beach resident has turned his front yard into what he describes as the largest haunted house he has built, and admission is free.

Joshua Kreppel said he has been decorating for Halloween and Christmas since he was a kid, and this year’s display is his biggest. He said he plans to go even bigger next year.

Kreppel said the appeal is the crowd. He said he enjoys watching visitors get scared, and he likes seeing neighbors meet, shake hands and hug in front of his house.

Visitors described the maze as “scary fun.” One attendee said no one who walked through it left unscared, and another said it was hard to believe the attraction was in a private yard.

Kreppel said visitors do not have to pay anything to go through. He ended with a simple message: “Happy Halloween.”
