Deerfield Beach has received a $450,000 check from the Florida Legislature to help build an air pavilion at Oveta McKeithen Park. The city celebrated the presentation at its City Commission meeting on Thursday, Nov. 5.

City officials said the money is an important step toward improving the city’s recreational spaces. The project is meant to give residents and families more places to gather and spend time outdoors.

The city thanked its state legislative partners for their continued support. The post did not give a construction start date, a total project cost or a timeline for completion.
