Coconut Creek native Jaiden Garcia has officially committed to Chattahoochee Valley Community College to continue his baseball career, the school’s program announced through local outlet Coconut Creek Talk.
Garcia started playing at age four with Coconut Creek Little League. He later moved into travel ball, competing with the Broward Blizzards from 8U through 13U and the South Florida Scorpions for his 14U through 16U seasons. He also played for the Next Level Scout Team at 17U.
For high school, Garcia chose Westminster Academy because his home school, Coconut Creek High School, does not have a baseball program. He played two varsity seasons for the Lions, hitting .361 with 31 RBIs and 32 runs scored.
Garcia said the college offered a full scholarship and a chance to play right away. He has one more varsity season left before he joins the team. Chattahoochee Valley went 30-27 last season and has produced several MLB Draft picks, including four-time All-Star Tim Hudson.
“It is a dream come true,” Garcia said. “Knowing that all the hard work and countless hours of training when no one was watching has finally paid off.”
