The City of Coconut Creek is collecting worn or torn U.S. flags to be repurposed in honor of veterans and active-duty service members. The city is supporting the Stars for Our Troops campaign.
Residents can drop off flags at the city’s Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park, 3550 Lyons Road. Flags can also be dropped off at any time in the City Hall lobby, 4800 West Copans Road.
To be accepted, flags must be 3 feet by 5 feet, made in the USA and have embroidered stars. More information about the organization is available at starsforourtroops.org.
