The Coral Springs Charter School girls’ bowling team won the District 14 championship on October 19 in Boca Raton, going 9-0 across all rounds.

Charter’s Jazzy Chung took the singles title, and teammate Cameron Thiel finished third in singles. Taravella’s girls’ team placed third in the team competition. Chyanne Van Winkle, also from Taravella, took second place and qualified as an individual for the state meet.

The Charter boys’ team finished fourth and did not advance.

Coach Greg Mason praised both squads. “Our girls’ team bowled very well today, and I am very proud of everyone on the team,” he said. “The boys’ team also did very well as a team.”

Charter’s girls’ team and Van Winkle now prepare for the state championship in Orlando, scheduled for October 27 through 30.
