A Saturday night party in the Boca Winds community that drew more than 300 juveniles could lead to charges against the homeowner, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies have referred a case against Jason Watt, an owner of the home at 22355 Collington Drive, and the office said it is alleged that he allowed teens to drink.
A sheriff’s report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com describes deputies finding roughly 300 young people walking through the roadways and across lawns. Blocked streets kept emergency vehicles from reaching the house at first. When a deputy reached the front door, Watt came out and told the deputy the party was over. He said it was meant only for West Boca High School students before other juveniles arrived.
Deputies said calls began coming in from neighbors about teens causing a disturbance and damaging mailboxes as they left. Probable cause exists, the report says, to charge Watt with allowing a minor to use alcohol or drugs at an open house party. Watt was not arrested at the scene.
Tips and social media posts cited by the news site allege that guests paid an entry fee and were allowed to bring their own alcohol. Those claims have not been confirmed by police. The State Attorney’s Office, led by Alexcia Cox, had not yet commented.
