Two people accused of stealing mail at a Homestead apartment complex crashed Thursday morning after Homestead police officers caught them in the act, according to an arrest report.

Homestead police were investigating “multiple mail theft incidents” at San Sherri Apartments, 440 E. Mowry Drive, after the U.S. Postal Inspection Service contacted them last Friday. Surveillance video showed a gray Nissan Rogue. Investigators placed a GPS tracker inside a Priority Mail parcel in the complex’s cluster boxes and waited.
