Parkridge Christian High School has hired Olivia Taibl as its new head softball coach. Taibl played two years of Division I softball at Stetson University and is taking on her first head coaching job.

Taibl said she wants to stay close to the sport that has shaped much of her life. She hopes to help the program become competitive while building players’ skills, confidence and mental toughness on and off the field.

She credited her former high school coach, Mark Montimurro, with teaching her to focus on preparation and small details. “He taught me that winning starts with preparation,” she said. She plans to apply that approach in practice, including studying opponents and working on fundamentals so they carry over into games.

Taibl acknowledged that the transition from player to coach will come with a learning curve. She said her goal is to help her players grow “not just as players but as people, too.”
