Two animals at Broward County Animal Care in Fort Lauderdale are hoping to be adopted before the holidays. One is a dog that has been at the shelter for nearly three months. The other is a cat whose owner was hospitalized.
Wylder, a 4-year-old Boxer mix, weighs 60 pounds. He was found as a stray in early August. Shelter staff describe him as gentle, friendly and affectionate, a dog who likes to play and explore but is just as happy curling up with his favorite people. He is neutered, and his animal identification number is A2479444.
Bianca, a 1-year-old domestic shorthair, arrived in October after her owner was hospitalized. She weighs 9 pounds and is described as sweet and sociable, with a fondness for attention, toys and treats. She is spayed, and her animal identification number is A2481482.
Both pets are available at the shelter, 2400 SW 42nd St. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. All adopted animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters pay $25 for the required Broward County registration tag. More information is at Broward.org/Animal.
