Flooding from heavy rain has forced election officials to move polling places in Palm Beach and Indian River counties before the Nov. 3 general election.

In Palm Beach County, voters in two precincts will go to different sites. Precinct 6401 voters who normally cast ballots at Casa Rio Clubhouse will now vote at Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy, 7071 Garden Road in Riviera Beach. Precinct 7628 voters who normally vote at Ironhorse Country Club will report to the North County Senior Center, 5217 Northlake Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens.

Election officials said affected voters will receive an email or text message if the elections office has their contact information. Signs will also be posted at the original polling places.

Sebastian site also moves

In Indian River County, the Supervisor of Elections announced that Precinct 7 voters will not cast ballots at the Sebastian Church of God on Delaware Avenue because of flooding there. They are being directed instead to the Sebastian Elks Lodge No. 2714, 731 S. Fleming St. in Sebastian.

Polls in both counties open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3. Election officials are asking affected voters to go straight to their newly assigned locations. The Indian River County elections office has posted an official notice about the Sebastian change on its website.
