Miami artist Natalia Garcia-Lee will lead a collage workshop at the Deering Estate on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 4 p.m. The session will take place in the Pump House at the estate, 16701 SW 72 Ave. Tickets cost $20 and are sold through Eventbrite.
Garcia-Lee is one of 17 artists-in-residence at the Deering Estate for the 2026 season. The Madrid-born artist works in oil paintings, collages, drawings and jewelry, and organizes her work into series that examine how humans behave as a species. She earned a bachelor of fine arts in sculpture from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn in 1995.
Her recent exhibitions include “HOMO SAPIEN SAPIEN” at the Miami Dade College Kendall Campus Gallery in October 2025. A solo show titled “How to Organize Humans” is scheduled for January 2027 at Bridge Red Studios.
The residency program lets artists respond to the estate’s history, architecture and natural setting while working with the public. The estate, a national landmark managed by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, offers the workshop as one of several ways for residents to take part in its arts programming.
