A driver was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a truck crashed through a wall and sank into a lake in Sunrise, according to police.

The single-vehicle crash happened near the intersection of Oakland Park Boulevard and Northwest 94th Avenue, Sunrise police said. Fire rescue crews pulled the driver from the water and took him or her to a hospital. Police did not say how the driver was hurt.

A Local 10 helicopter, Sky 10, flew over the scene around 1:31 p.m. and showed the truck fully submerged. Divers were also working the scene, which was blocked off with crime scene tape.

Police have not released the driver’s gender, age, identity or condition, or the circumstances that led to the crash. Local 10 said those details were not immediately available, and drivers in the area may see lane or road closures while crews work.
