The City of Pompano Beach’s Utilities Department will conduct routine free chlorination of the city’s water distribution system from Nov. 2 through Nov. 30, 2026.

Residents may notice a slight change in the taste or smell of their tap water during that period. The city said the water will remain safe for drinking, cooking, bathing and everyday use.

The city offered several reminders. Dialysis patients and people with compromised immune systems should check with their healthcare provider about any needed precautions. Aquarium and fish pond owners should contact an aquarium professional about adjusting their water treatment.

Scheduled fire hydrant flushing may cause temporary discoloration. If that happens, run your faucets until the water clears.

After Nov. 30, the city will return to its standard chloramine disinfection process. Questions can be directed to Utilities Customer Service at 954-786-4637.
