South Florida is dealing with coastal flooding, rough surf and scattered thunderstorms on Wednesday as king tides keep water levels high along the coast, according to WPBF 25 News.
A Coastal Flood Warning and High Surf Advisory remain in effect. Flooding is possible in vulnerable coastal and low-lying areas during high tide, with the day’s highest tide expected around 10:13 a.m.
WPBF 25 meteorologists also reported scattered showers and fast-moving thunderstorms, bringing periods of wet weather through the day.
Conditions are expected to improve Thursday, with fewer rain chances and easing winds. King tide flooding concerns, however, will continue even as the weather calms. The forecast calls for a mix of clouds and sunshine, with isolated to scattered showers through the end of the workweek.
Residents in low-lying areas should keep an eye on local alerts during high tide periods.
