Coral Springs residents who have been craving New York-style bagels now have a new option for breakfast or lunch. Long Island Bagel Café recently opened at 6240 Coral Ridge Drive, Suite 116, near the Heron Bay community.

The café took over the former Hurricane Grill & Wings space. It is designed to look like a traditional New York bagel shop, with displays of freshly baked bagels and a row of spreads for customers to choose from.

The bagel selection includes plain, everything, whole wheat and oat bran. Spread options include vegetable, chocolate chip and apple walnut. According to the menu, all bagels are rolled and baked fresh daily.

Beyond bagels, the menu offers breakfast and lunch wraps, deli sandwiches, paninis and salads. Staff member John Pantusco said the bacon and egg items are among the most popular.

The café is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
