A parking dispute in Opa-locka turned violent Sunday evening when a driver allegedly pulled a handgun and threatened to kill two people who had honked at him, according to police.

An arrest report says 37-year-old Ralph Douson Dagrin was involved in the confrontation around 8 p.m. in the 13800 block of Northwest 22nd Avenue. Investigators said the two people honked to get Dagrin to move his vehicle, and he got out and confronted them.

Police said Dagrin became aggressive, pointed a handgun at the pair and threatened their lives. The report quotes him saying, “What, I will kill you.” Both victims told officers they feared for their lives and believed he would shoot them.

Dagrin went into a nearby apartment complex, where officers searched for him. An officer later saw him coming out of an elevator and detained him. A pat-down turned up a black Glock 17 handgun in a holster on his waistband.

Dagrin admitted taking the gun from beneath his steering wheel during the argument but denied threatening anyone. His girlfriend, who witnessed the incident, told police he pulled the gun out a second time and aimed it at the victims.

Dagrin was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. A judge in bond court found probable cause and set his bond at $7,500.
