The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported significant flooding in Palm City on Sunday, closing parts of SW Dyer Point Road, SW 34th Street and Cornell Avenue. The sheriff’s office said the flooding on SW Dyer Point Road has made the roadway impassable.

Deputies are sending high-water rescue vehicles to help anyone stranded in cars or homes, the agency said. The office did not say how many people needed help.

Residents should stay out of the affected areas and never drive through flooded roads, the sheriff’s office said. Anyone who needs emergency help should call 911. WPBF 25 said it will provide updates on air and online.

The flooding comes as king tide flooding has been reported across South Florida this week.
