Gianna, a 1-year-old dog with a big personality and a love for the Florida Panthers, is looking for a forever home through the Humane Society of Broward County.

At 1 year and 2 months old and about 27 pounds, Gianna is playful, affectionate and vocal, according to Cherie Wachter of the shelter. Wachter said Gianna was surrendered after the family’s apartment landlord said she could no longer stay because of her barking.

Gianna gets along well with other dogs. She would do best with an active household that can offer daily walks, playtime and plenty of chew toys. Shelter staff do not yet know how she does with cats or young children.

Gianna also has some TV time on the books. She appeared in a Halloween fashion show that airs Saturday at 8 p.m. on Local 10. She is one of Benny’s Buddies, so Florida Panthers player Sam Bennett has covered her adoption fee.

Adoption kennels open at 11 a.m. Interested residents can learn more about Gianna and other adoptable pets at humanebroward.com.
