Miami-Dade County is warning coastal drivers and boaters that king tides will bring the highest predicted high tides of the year from Oct. 24 through Oct. 30.
County officials advise residents to avoid driving or walking through flooded streets. People heading to the water should park on higher ground and check bridge clearance before heading out on boats.
The county’s post did not give specific flood locations or times for the highest tides. Residents heading to beaches, marinas or waterfront areas during the stretch should plan for water over roads and low-lying parking.
