Dash camera footage obtained by 7News shows a high-speed chase from the view of Florida Highway Patrol troopers that ended with the arrest of a 24-year-old man. The pursuit started in Miramar and ended in Miami Lakes.
According to Miramar police, officers tried to stop a driver near County Line Road and Northwest 69th Avenue. The driver did not comply and fled. FHP and other law enforcement agencies joined the chase, which moved onto the Palmetto Expressway and then east on Northwest 154th Street.
The footage shows the truck driver traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes before he turned into a neighborhood in Miami Lakes. A trooper used a precision immobilization technique to disable the truck, but the driver, identified as Jayden Aransevia, 24, got out and ran.
Aransevia ran through a family’s home and jumped into a backyard lake, where he hid under a dock, a family member said. Officers followed him inside the home and took him into custody.
Court records show Aransevia previously pleaded guilty to fleeing from police, reckless driving and other charges. He was sentenced to a month in jail and then placed on probation. A warrant for his arrest was issued Thursday on allegations that he violated probation. As of Thursday night, police had not confirmed his re-arrest.
