Tamarac Mayor Michelle J. Gomez is bringing her annual Ha-Ha’s for the TaTas comedy fundraiser back to Colony West Golf Club, 6850 NW 88th Ave., on Saturday, Oct. 10. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.

The event, presented by PuroClean, will include stand-up comedy, live music, food and a limited silent auction. Proceeds support people and families affected by cancer. Comedian and cancer survivor Derek Richards will headline, with Vincent Cheeks opening and Flip Schultz serving as emcee and featured performer. Saxophonist Julien “Jay” Wray will also perform.

Since the first show in October 2023, the fundraiser has donated a combined $80,000 to the Tamarac Employees Benevolent Fund, Gilda’s Club of South Florida and the American Cancer Society, according to Gomez.

Gomez, who has undergone cancer treatment, told Tamarac Talk that the event was inspired by neighbors and city employees who were affected by the disease. The evening will include a video tribute to people in treatment, survivors and those who have died. Gomez said the fundraiser raises awareness of all cancers and stresses that breast cancer affects men as well as women.

The organization became a Florida not-for-profit this year and is pursuing federal 501(c)(3) status. Tickets cost $75 for patron seating, $100 for prime, $125 for preferred and $150 for premium. Tickets are available at Tamarac.me/TaTas2026, and valet parking is complimentary.
