Hundreds of people rallied across the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast over the weekend at “No Kings” protests against President Donald Trump’s policies. Organizers urged residents to take part in the midterm elections, and the crowds turned out despite steady rain.

Protesters were spread from the Treasure Coast to southern Palm Beach County on Saturday. Organizers stressed that voters need a plan for the midterms, and several speakers pressed people to research candidates before casting ballots.

Anita Smith drove from Okeechobee to Port St. Lucie to demonstrate. She said she is fed up with how the government is run, and she voiced concern about Amendment 3, the property tax measure on the ballot. Smith said she worried voters would approve it without reading the full text, which she described as written in dense legal language.

Roger Lyle, another demonstrator, called Trump a criminal and said he should be held accountable. Lyle urged voters to look closely at what candidates have done before electing them.

No counterprotesters showed up at the rally.
