Private security cars belonging to Woodfield Country Club are parked on Clint Moore Road in Boca Raton, and local officials have not pointed to any permit that allows them there. BocaNewsNow.com reported Saturday that the cars slow traffic and block turns on the road between Florida’s Turnpike and just west of Jog Road.

The site obtained a construction permit that appears to require traffic-interfering work to stop by 3 p.m. The security cars remain in place around the clock, and crews have been seen working as late as 5 p.m. on weekdays, the report said.

The club has been cutting down trees and installing an eight-foot wall along the road for weeks. Neighbors and drivers have nicknamed the project “Levin Worth,” a reference to the federal prison in Kansas.

The report says an attorney for the Woodfield homeowners association, Jonathan Zim of Becker Poliakoff, sent the outlet a cease-and-desist letter after it joked about publishing residents’ contact information. Zim had not responded to a request for a traffic-control permit as of Saturday afternoon, according to the site.

Boca Raton police and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office both said they are not currently involved. Drivers who are delayed by the security cars or by late construction can call Boca Raton police at 561-368-6201 or PBSO at 561-688-3400.
