The Resource Depot in West Palm Beach is among 65 local nonprofits receiving money from the GOLDEN 100 program run by the law firm GOLDLAW. The program donated $100,000 in total, WPTV reported.

Craig Goldenfarb, founder and CEO of GOLDLAW, visited the nonprofit, which collects and repurposes everyday items. He said supporting the community and putting money back into local nonprofits is important to him.

Staff take in about 20,000 pounds of donated materials each month and repurpose them for sale. Executive Director Jennifer O’Brien told WPTV’s Ashley Glass that the grant will pay for artificial intelligence training for staff. She said the small team is looking for ways to work more efficiently.

O’Brien said community support gives her staff energy to keep going, and keeps items that could otherwise go to landfills out of the trash stream.
