A 19-year-old Palm Beach County man is facing felony charges more than a year after a shooting in West Palm Beach that wounded a man and damaged nearby homes, according to a probable cause affidavit recently filed in the case.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office charged Travari Johnson with attempted felony murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling. The shooting happened Oct. 24, 2025, in the area of 810 Sixth St.
Officers responded after a ShotSpotter alert detected multiple gunshots. Investigators found that bullets had struck occupied homes and a vehicle. A man identified in the report as Torey Murray was shot and taken to the hospital. Detectives later said his injuries were severe and potentially life-altering.
According to the affidavit, surveillance video, social media evidence, cellphone data, witness statements and ballistic testing helped detectives identify two suspects. Detectives allege Johnson and another man, Ezekiel Daughtry, were involved. Both face charges of attempted murder with a firearm and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
Investigators said a rifle recovered from Johnson during a separate 2026 investigation was linked by ballistic testing to shell casings found at the scene. The affidavit also cites DNA testing on that firearm, which it says strongly supports that Johnson contributed to DNA found on the weapon.
