The City of Miramar is asking residents to donate supplies for communities in Southern Panama affected by a recent 7.7-magnitude earthquake. Tents and cots are the city’s most urgent needs, to provide temporary shelter for displaced families.

Donations are accepted around the clock at Miramar Police Headquarters on City Hall Promenade and at Fire Stations 19, 70, 107, 84 and 100. The fire stations are on Miramar Parkway, Southwest 27th Street and Southwest 184th Avenue.

The city suggests non-perishable food, water, hygiene kits, diapers, new blankets, shelter supplies, batteries, first-aid kits, protective gear and cleanup materials. Clothing, shoes and linens will not be accepted.

Residents with questions can call 954-602-HELP (4357).
