A new waterfront market in Jupiter is set to open Saturday, Nov. 7, when the first Heart & Harvest market runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Charlie & Joe’s at Love Street. The event is designed to put local food makers, artists and community groups in the spotlight.
Lucky Shuck Executive Chef John Daly told WPTV the market is meant to support people who live and work in the area, including local vendors and fishermen. He said it is also a good way for families to spend time outdoors.
Among the vendors is Danielle Sarette of Seaside Sourdough, who bakes from her home in Jupiter Farms. Sarette said her children help make bread, bagels and focaccia from scratch. The business recently launched a website.
The Arc of Palm Beach County will also sell artwork made by adults in its artisan program. Sean Stickley, the program manager, said the artists receive a commission for their work, which makes a good option for holiday shopping.
Heart & Harvest is part of the Events in the Heart series at the waterfront venue. More dates are planned, including an Art in the Heart holiday edition on Sunday, Nov. 29, and a Christmas market on Sunday, Dec. 20. The series is free to attend, though some activities may require advance registration and a fee.
