A former chief financial officer of a Delray Beach hemp company is being held on more than $20 million bond after her arrest on money laundering, organized fraud and drug charges, according to an affidavit from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Casey Anne Smith, 41, of Boynton Beach, faces 12 counts tied to the business, Not Your Bakery LLC. Detectives say the company sold vapes, gummies and concentrates under the “Jelly” brand as legal hemp, but lab tests on six items bought online in February 2025 showed THC levels above 1% delta-9, more than three times the 0.3% federal limit for hemp. Products were shipped from warehouses on NW 17th Avenue in Delray Beach and, more recently, Edmond, Oklahoma.
The affidavit names three co-defendants, Michael Carey Ives, Hassan Mohamed Soueid and Jonathan Enaldo Zelaya. Court records reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com do not show that the three men have been arrested.
A forensic accountant working with investigators concluded the company took in about $16.9 million in 2024 and $21 million in 2025, while reporting far lower gross sales on Florida sales tax returns. Investigators allege the owners moved millions through personal companies, and the affidavit seeks forfeiture of vehicles, a boat, and two homes in Boynton Beach and Pompano Beach.
Smith left the company in July 2026 and was terminated July 13, the affidavit says. Investigators also cite an unsent draft letter in her email in which she withdrew her 10% stake and objected to management’s decision to market products they considered illegal. She also faces a separate tax case in Pennsylvania tied to the business.
All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
