The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for South Florida through Monday, and WPBF 25 meteorologist Nikki Sheaks said the region should expect excessive rainfall. WPBF’s First Warning Weather team has labeled Sunday and Monday as Impact Weather days.

Rain totals are expected to reach three to five inches, with some areas possibly seeing five to seven inches. Forecasters put the chance of scattered rain at 50% Sunday morning, rising to 60% in the afternoon.

Winds will be breezy, sustained at around 15 to 20 mph, and high temperatures will hold in the low 80s. The wet and windy conditions could cause localized flooding, so residents should keep an eye on forecast updates and avoid driving through standing water.
