Early voting ended Saturday on the Treasure Coast and in Okeechobee County ahead of Tuesday’s General Election. Palm Beach County residents can still visit any of its 28 early polling sites on Sunday.
Early voting totals on the Treasure Coast are nearly 56,000 in St. Lucie County, around 29,000 each in Martin and Indian River counties, and more than 3,700 in Okeechobee County. Nearly 178,000 people in Palm Beach County have already submitted ballots early.
Martin County officials said more than 40% of registered voters there cast ballots by mail or during early voting. That already exceeds the 29% turnout in the August primary. Vicki Davis, with the Martin County Supervisor of Elections Office in Stuart, said the county had a great turnout.
After early voting, voters can only cast ballots in person on Election Day at their assigned precinct. Vote-by-mail ballots must reach county elections offices by 7 p.m. Sunday or be dropped off during business hours Monday. Election officials do not go by postmarks.
Election officials urged voters to confirm their polling place at MartinVotes.gov or by calling 772-288-5637.
