A Lantana man has been arrested in connection with a July 2025 hit-and-run that seriously injured a pedestrian on Ridge Road, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The State Attorney’s Office authorized an arrest warrant on Sept. 30 for Eliseo Cabrera Alvarenga, 27, of Lantana. He was taken into custody Monday, Oct. 5, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said the crash happened at 11:36 p.m. on July 3, 2025, on Ridge Road near Flamingo Drive. Investigators say Cabrera Alvarenga was driving a 2020 Honda Civic southbound when he hit Quincy Kellyn Montgomery, 22, of Lake Worth Beach. Montgomery was walking north in the travel lanes wearing a non-reflective blue shirt and tan pants, and police said he was thrown onto the car and then landed in a front yard at 827 Ridge Road. The driver fled the scene.
Lantana police asked the sheriff’s Vehicular Homicide Investigations unit to take over the case. Investigators located the Honda and identified a suspect through its registered owner. DNA results came back June 22, 2026, and the warrant followed about three months later.
The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
