The Delray String Quartet will open its 2026-27 season with a Masterworks Concert on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 188 S. Swinton Ave., in Delray Beach. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

The program features three works. Beethoven’s String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 74, written in 1809 and nicknamed “Harp” for the pizzicato passages in its first movement, anchors the afternoon. The group will also perform Caroline Shaw’s “Entr’acte,” which starts from a Haydn minuet and drifts into unfamiliar harmonies, and Bernard Herrmann’s “Echoes” from 1965, a ten-section work by the composer known for his film scores for Alfred Hitchcock.

General admission is $35 and seats are first-come, first-served. Reserved seating costs $50 and includes assigned aisle and central sections. The quartet said ticket prices for the 2026-27 season will stay the same because of its arrangement with the church.

Patrons who want premium reserved seats for the season should contact Marina at the quartet by Nov. 15. Season tickets can be bought through the group’s website, delraystringquartet.com/concerts.
