British DJ and producer Cloonee, who goes by Dave, is returning to III Points at Mana Wynwood on Oct. 16 and 17. He is set to perform at the festival days after releasing his debut album, “Are You Still You?,” on Oct. 6.
Speaking to New Times by Zoom from his home in Los Angeles, Cloonee said fans often claim a different version of him has returned with each single. The album is built around that idea, pulling together the styles that different parts of his audience have embraced, from the stripped-back sound of “Get Stupid” to the Latin influences he brings to his Miami sets. He said repeating one sound left him bored.
The album came together faster than planned. Work began during studio sessions in December and January, and the release was moved up after the response to “Free Your Mind,” his collaboration with Prospa. One track, “Good Girl,” started during Music Week in Miami.
Cloonee also talked about Hellbent, the clothing brand he runs with a business partner, and his work with Para Los Niños in Los Angeles, which includes toy drives and funding for the school’s music program. He said new visuals are being developed for III Points, with bigger changes saved for headline shows in 2027.
His set is scheduled for 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, on the Mind Melt stage at Mana Wynwood, 2217 NW Fifth Ave. Tickets cost $179 to $375.
