Margate voters elected Antonio V. Arserio and Nina Culver to the City Commission in the Nov. 3 municipal election, according to election results. With 96 percent of precincts reporting, Arserio won Seat 3 with 49.20% of the vote, and Culver won Seat 5 with 40.72%.

Arserio, first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022, will serve his third and final consecutive term under the city’s term limits. Fellow commissioners have chosen him to serve as mayor twice. A licensed real estate broker and former Planning and Zoning Board member, he campaigned on public safety, infrastructure, downtown development and keeping Margate’s family-oriented character. His campaign reported raising more than $100,000 by April.

Culver, a business management professional and community advocate, won her seat on her third attempt at elected office. She founded Margate Neighbors, a community organization, and ran on public safety, infrastructure, government spending, redevelopment, transparency and protecting property values. The Metro-Broward Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 3080, endorsed her campaign.

Both will sit on the five-member commission, which sets city policies, budgets and development decisions.
