A 20-year-old woman from Loxahatchee was arrested after Margate police said she attacked her boyfriend in an apartment parking lot on Oct. 6. Officers responded to the complex in the 3400 block of Pinewalk Drive North after multiple reports of a man and woman fighting outside.
According to a Margate Police Department arrest report, a witness told officers she heard yelling from her apartment and saw a woman pushing a man near a staircase. The witness said the man did not try to fight back.
Police identified the woman as Jada E. Gordon. She told investigators the argument started when she was on the balcony holding a rolled marijuana cigarette. Her boyfriend, who had been playing a video game, grabbed the joint from her hand and tossed it over the railing, she said.
Gordon went downstairs to look for the joint but could not find it, and the argument continued. She told police her boyfriend then began throwing her belongings, including a cellphone, out of the apartment. Gordon admitted she put her hands on him outside, according to the report.
Officers saw scratches on the right side of the man’s chest that they said were consistent with being pushed by someone with long fingernails. Gordon was taken to the Broward County Main Jail.
