Professional puppeteer Katie Adams will bring her shadow puppet show, “Mariposa Martinez and More Tales from Latin America,” to the Spanish River Library in Boca Raton on Sunday, Dec. 13. The Boca Raton Public Library announced the event this week.
Adams will perform two back-to-back shows, at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., at the library at 1501 NW Spanish River Blvd. The program draws on Aztec and Mayan tales as well as Cuban and Spanish folktales, and it includes some Spanish words.
The show is aimed at children ages 3 and up, though the library said adults who enjoy storytelling will also find it worthwhile. Adams has been performing for audiences across the Southeast and beyond since 1986.
The Friends of the Library is sponsoring the event, and seats must be reserved in advance for either showtime. Interested families can find the reservation link on the library’s online calendar.
